Last weeks WTF post about Pelvic Exams being performed in hospitals without proper consent was a hot topic. I see that as a positive; I strongly believe that any issue that gets people thinking and actively debating is a good thing. If you know me, you know that apathy makes me sick and I see it as what is wrong with the world today. If you are passionate about something I could care less if you don't agree with me.
If you saw my WTF post a few weeks ago, you know I have no issue with controversy or someone calling me out as wrong. I can take constructive criticism and I have no problem apologizing when I am wrong. That being said, I am not ok with someone viciously attacking anyone personally online. My philosophy is: If you wouldn't say it to someone in person, you should not be writing it online. In other words... if you don't have the balls to say it to my face, then shut the hell up.
I mean WTF people... anonymity does not give you the right to be a total prick!!
No matter how mad you are about something, attacking someone personally is not acceptable... ever. I gripe on my blog; it's a way for me to vent my thoughts and frustrations so I can be a better person, mother and wife. But, what I don't do is attack specific people - other than celebrities because that's different and even then, I don't say extremely mean things - and write hateful things about them.
If you have a valid argument, then focus on the issue not the person. If all you can bring to the table is: you're a dumb bitch or you're a sad cunt or you're a moron, then I think you may as well just keep your mouth shut. I mean please... come up with something better than bitch, cunt or moron; it's so very unoriginal and it really just shows that you have nothing worth while to say.
Have you ever been attacked online? How did you deal with it?
BTW - Sorry for the excessive swears. I hate writing those words but sometimes it has to be done to get the point across.

I bet all of those were anonymous.
Such cowardice makes those comments less then nothing. If someone doesn't have the balls to admit to their words, their words are a reflection of themselves.
... Holy crap, I'm deep after a glass of wine.
Wine = Deep Viktor. I will have to keep that in mind when I need a philosophical convo ;)
